Las Vegas and Hawaii

Well thought I would write a different blog today as just come back from a wonderful holiday in Vegas and Hawaii.

This was a much needed break - last year was a sad year with my mum dying and just couldnt seem to bounce back. Miss her terribly and at the end of the day it is still hard to believe she is gone.

I needed some more brightness in my life and this was a perfect way to celebrate life with my adoring husband - just the two of us.

We went to Vegas as we have done before but somehow or other it seemed extra special. The thing about Vegas it really has appeal to everyone. Accommodation in February is amazingly cheaper than some other months, the people are friendly but the service in Vegas would have to be the best ever.

We Australians could honestly learn from Vegas as in the 8 days we didnt come across anyone that was grumpy, looking as though they hated their job, rude. We came across incredible service, politeness and eager to give you the best service and then when you throw in the food well you have it all. It made you feel so special and important.

Two of our favourite restaurants were Mon Ami Gabi - means my friend Gabi - the relaxed atmosphere, food, service and views are incredible. I mean this restaurant is packed breakfast lunch and dinner.

Second restaurant was at Caesars called Jo's Seafood and Steakhouse. Fantastic setting, service, food to die for including the seafood salad which is the best ever l have experienced in all my years of wining and dining. Just sensational. Just love this place and keep going back.

The one thing lacking in Vegas across the board is good coffee. We Australians love our coffee and it was only on the last day did we discover the best ever coffee at Bellagio which in itself a magnificant Hotel. Just love it.

What does Vegas have to offer? EVERYTHING. And am not getting paid for this article either.
Just want to tell the world along with no doubt so many other millions of people just how special this place is - the night life, the restaurants, the accommodation, the friendliness, the shopping - oh the shopping is to die for and much much more.

Our second stop was Hawaii - just gorgeous but completely different. We stayed at The Sheraton and was upgraded to a beautiful room overlooking the sea.

Hawaii - well what can we say is that it is a very relaxing, magnificant beautiful place.
The food and service not up to par with Vegas but neither are the restaurants and particularly service in Australia, so you do lower your expectations.

The Cheesecake Factory is a great casual place to have breakfast, lunch and dinner and couldnt get over the cues day in and day out. Oh yes we did partake in breakfast and lunch and dinners there as well.

What we love about Hawaii is the beauty, its people, and you read your books, relax, walk along the beach and sus out the local restaurants hidden around corners. One in particular which was just about two corners from The Sheraton
has great pasta, seafood and good service. Cannot remember the name and we have been going there for the last 5 years. Will remember next time.

Had a wonderful holiday - feel refreshed, happy and looking forward to the next one.

If you are thinking about going on a holiday then just do it because you create so many wonderful memories.

Well I better stop dreaming and get back to work!!!
